Frequently asked questions

How are the WhatsApp groups structured?

Four tiers, each with a clear purpose. Posting outside a group's purpose dilutes urgency and makes alerts harder to find — please keep posts on-topic.

How do I report an incident?

When you post an incident in your street group or the Emergency Incidents group, please use this format. Copy the template, fill in the brackets, and attach any photos.

🚨 Incident Report 🚨
📍 Location: [Street name / exact address]
🕒 Time & date: [When it occurred]
📌 Type of incident: [Crime / Suspicious activity / Medical emergency / Fire / Municipal issue]
📖 Description: [Brief details of what happened]
📷 Attachments: [Photos / videos if applicable]
🚔 Action taken: [Reported to security / law enforcement / community response, etc.]

Follow-ups on reported incidents are provided by the elected Crime Officer.

What if I'm in the wrong street group?

Your group is auto-detected from the street you entered when registering. If it looks wrong, first check your address on the My household page — updating your street will move you to the correct group. If your street isn't in the list, or you've moved between sub-areas, email info@paradyskloof.com and we'll sort it out.

Why is there a separate Emergency group?

The Emergency Incidents group is for crimes in progress, suspicious persons or vehicles needing urgent attention, and medical or fire emergencies. It includes SAPS officers, security providers and emergency services alongside residents and street reps. Keep it noise-free so genuinely urgent alerts aren't missed — general discussion belongs in your street group.

I don't have an account yet — what do I do?

Register your household. A committee member will review your registration (usually within a week) and activate your account — your personalised WhatsApp join links will appear on this page once you're active.
